Eyebrow Shaping
Eyebrows give a definition to face. Grooming your eyebrows and giving them shape can make your face look cleaner and even more beautiful and make your eyes appear larger and more expressive. Eyebrow pencils are widely in use but they may add artificiality to the face. A natural eyebrow look can be achieved by using brow colors with the aid of short brush with stiff bristles.
Here are some useful tips that you can make to make your eyebrows beautiful and attractive.
- To get the initial shape of your eyebrows go to a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist first.
- Invest in a pair of high quality tweezers and look for the tweezers' tips to come together in a point and there should be no gaps or spaces - slant tip tweezers allow for better control. The moisture releases the pores and loosens up hair follicles.
- Hold a pencil upright on the side of your nose. The outside corner of the pencil is where your eyebrows should begin. Then tilt the pencil to the outside of the eye, where the eyebrows should end.
- Mark the starting point and ending point of the eyebrows with a white makeup pencil.
- Apply a thin layer of moisturizer to the eyebrows. When pulled, this will allow the hair to slide out with ease.
- Brush the eyebrows up with a brush or soft toothbrush to find your natural arch. Doing this will draw attention to any hair above the brow bone that will need tweezing.
- Draw the required shape you want for your brows with a soft eye shadow pencil. Do not use an eyeliner pencil because it will cause you to tweeze too much.
- First tweeze the eyebrows from beneath following the direction of hair growth. If you find that you are sensitive to tweezing then apply an ice cube or oral mouth pain reliever to numb the eyebrow area.
- After tweezing ease the area with a cool washcloth. Do not forget to erase the starting and ending points marked with the white makeup pencil.
- To tame the beautifully tweezed eyebrows apply hair gel or spray to a brow brush and comb into place.
- Eyebrow Waxing: Are you happy with the look and shape of your eyebrow? If you have tried and just cannot get them right shaped, perhaps a trip to the salon is in order. Have a staff member wax your brows and it will show you exactly what they could look like. After that, all you need is a little maintenance weekly or bi-weekly.
- Eyebrow Threading: This is a Chinese technique for shaping the eyebrow. Threading is perhaps an old method and is used primarily on facial hair. It is not only used for shaping eyebrow but also used on the entire face, including upper lip, chin, eyebrows, sideburns and cheeks.
- Eyebrow Plucking: Plucking is done with tweezers and is suitable for the removal of isolated hairs, on the chin or between the brows.
After getting a perfect shape after using any of the eyebrow shaping technique, the next step is to maintain that shape.
