Home Made Shampoos

1. Lavender Shampoo:

Ingredients:

• Amla - 100 gm
• Shikakai - 200 gm
• Henna - 100 gm
• Khus - 100 gm
• Char - 100 gm
• Charilla - 100 gm
• Reetha - 200 gm
• Sodium Benzoate - ½ teaspoon
• Lavender Oil - 8 teaspoons
• Water - 2 ½ litres

Soak amla, heena, shikakai, khus, charchirila and reetha for one night. Boil them in the morning till the mixture remains the half. Now strain the mixture and add lavender oil and sodium benzoate. Shampoo is ready.

Lime Shampoo

Ingredients:

• Amla - 100 gm
• Shikakai - 200 gm
• Char - 100 gm
• Charilla - 100 gm
• Khus - 100 gm
• Reetha - 200 gm
• Water - 2 ½ litres
• Glycerine - 8 teaspoons
• Lime juice - 4 teaspoons
• Sodium Benzoate - 1 ½ teaspoons

Boil amla, shikakai, char, charilla and khus in the water till the mixture becomes half the quantity. Strain it and add rest of the ingredients. Rinse the hair and apply the shampoo for 2-3 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm.

Neem Shampoo

Ingredients:

• Gram flour - 1 kg
• Sandalwood powder - 250 gm
• Neem leaves powder - 4-5 cups
• Shikakai powder - 1 kg

Mix these thoroughly by sieving. Keep it in an airtight bottle. When needed for washing, soak two tablespoons of it in a cup of water, then apply. This is good for all types of hair.

4. Sandalwood Shampoo:

Ingredients:

• Shikakai - 200 gm
• Khus - 100 gm
• Char - 100 gm
• Charilla - 100 gm
• Amla - 100 gm
• Reetha - 200 gm
• Sodium Benzoate - ½ teaspoon
• Sandalwood oil - 8 teaspoons
• Water - 2 ½ litres

Soak Shikakai, Khus, Char, Charilla, Amla, Reetha & water for a night. Boil this in the morning till half the quantity remains. Strain it and add sodium benzoate and sandalwood oil. Shampoo is ready. This is especially recommended for oily hair.

Methi – Shikaki Shampoo

Ingredients:

• Methi - 250gm
• Shikakai - 1 kg
• Orange / lemon peels - Handful

Crush all these ingredients into a powdery form. Soak this powder in ½ cup of water, 2 hours before applying on your hair. Using this powder shampoo simply as you do with others.
