Cosmetics and Makeup Tips and Information
You know that mascara that you hardly ever use has turned a bit hard, so add a little almond oil to or other such liquid and then apply it. Sure go ahead and experiment with your cosmetics as long as you don't particularly care about any allergic reactions! Cosmetics are no doubt indispensable in today's world and they can truly transform you if you know how to use them. But there is a right way to use them and the right kinds to buy.
Cosmetic corporations, whether big or small, exist to make money. Even if their brand image screams out 'to bring out the superstar in you', believe that your safety is not their number one concern but making money is. Of course, no one is out to get you deliberately but certain products or brands may not suit your skin. It is best to practice precaution before you buy a product, which spells glamour and makes unrealistic promises.
Cosmetic companies do conduct tests to make sure that products are safe to use. But not all necessary tests will be conducted to make sure that you will not get that rare type of allergy. There really is no set method or guaranteed test that will ensure your complete safety. But this does not mean that you should be paranoid of cosmetics in general. What works for one person may not work for another.
Using terms like 'natural' is one other way of capturing the consumer's attention. Today everyone frowns upon chemicals and rush to buy products (from food items to cosmetics), which are natural. Natural does not necessarily mean problem-free. People may develop allergies or unnatural aging from prolonged use of certain products.
Apart from picking out the right products for you, there is a definite way of using cosmetics. Using cosmetics post the expiry date or even six months after manufacture is a really bad idea. But after all it is just on the surface? It is not poisonous like consuming expired canned olives or peaches! Sure it does not internally enter your system but it is still going to cause a reaction, and you can be sure it will be an unfavorable one. Early ageing is not something you want to deal with.
This section will provide you details on proper use of cosmetics too. As mentioned earlier, don't try to soften your mascara with some random liquids. It is best to use products during their shelf life. Saving a few bucks by not throwing out your old make-up and buying a new one may just lead to disaster. You may land up spending more on trying to treat your allergic reaction and you will have to suffer through the painful or ugly allergy. Is it really worth the trouble?
Each of us has a unique body, which accepts certain products/ chemicals and rejects some. Make sure that you do not put yourself in a position where you have to deal with unwanted allergies and reactions. In the end, cosmetics exist to beautify you and should not harm or damage you in any way.
